About the House
Casa do Castanheiro, whose name derived from the fact of being surrounded by old chestnut trees, served, as most houses in this village, as a shelter for shepherds and their animals.
This house is completely restored to receive guests and invites you to enjoy long evenings at the fireplace or to see the sunset while sitting on the porch.
The village of Branda da Aveleira is one of the several scattered upland areas of a verdant village named Melgaço. Branda da Aveleira has no permanent inhabitants, but still maintains its original function of receiving those who accept the challenges of the mountain and nature. Its location in the mountains of Parque Nacional da Penada-Gerês and its characteristic landscape consisting of granite rocks and deep valleys are certainly a gift of nature.

Ground floor: Living/dining room (sofa, fireplace and TV), kitchen (stove, oven, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, cookware and utensils), 1 bathroom.
First floor: 2 double rooms.
Exterior: The exterior of the house is shared with Casa do Castanheiro. Parking and private covered terrace.
General: Includes bed linens and towels. Electric heating. Pets are welcome.
Prices:
Exclusive use of the house for 4 persons: € 95/night.
Exclusive use of the house for 2 persons: € 60/night.
Extra bed: €20/night.
Notes: These prices are for the exclusive use of the house. Extra bed only for children up to 12 years. Minimum stay: 2 nights.
